Target Compliment - Unable To Get Credit Limit Raised, Maxed Out Card, Got A Credit
CLERMONT, FLORIDA -- I have contacted Target twice in the past to request a raise in my credit limit. We buy all our groceries and many gifts at Target... love Target, but hate that our credit limit is so low we frequently max out the card. For those who don't know, every $1000 you spend nets you a "10% off day" at Target. It's a great day to stock up on diapers and other staples and I usually spend up to $300 that day. Twice I spent literally 2-3 hours loading multiple carts, only to get to the register with my 10% off card and have my credit card declined, which means I can't get my 10% off. What am I supposed to do, pay full price or make a scene and put every thing back? Two weeks ago when it happened for the second time, I fired off a letter to Target Credit Card services. I pointed out the $$$ I spend in their store and again requested an increase in my limit. The request was denied (they claim the computer allows no changes to credit limits) but they did credit my card the $30 I would have gotten as my 10% discount the day they refused my card. Wow. How many stores would do that for you??
I am really impressed and I will keep going back. I'll just have to make sure I send in a large payment at least one week before I plan to use my 10% off next time.
