Steinhausen Watch Men's - Complaint
TAMPA, FLORIDA -- I returned this watch on June 3, 2008 because I learned that this watch was not being sold in any store and after I contacted the Company that made the watch they stated that it must be counterfeit and all warranties will not be honored. The Store stated that they were in bankruptcy and could do nothing about it. I explained that the watch must be counterfeit and they stated me me that the store is no longer in operation and was very sorry. It seems like if a store sells a product, and the product might be counterfeit as the maker stated they would at least honor the request for a return.
They suggested that I join the other complaints they have and hope for the best. I plan to complain to the attorney general of Florida concerning the probably of selling counterfeit watches.

On June 1 the store fell in to the hands of a receiver due to bankruptcy. What they told you was correct, there is nothing they can do about it. I'm not sure if you can even do a charge back on a store that's bankrupt.

Since the store is going out of business and the company is bankrupt, I doubt there is much recourse. Writing to the AG might make one feel better, but I can't think of anything the AG can do to further punish a failed business...unless individuals can be found who conspired to sell counterfeit watches. I really feel badly for this reviewer.

Agreed. Sadly the business went bankrupt and is gone for all intent purposes. How are Steinhausen watches sold if they are not available in stores? Wouldn't this have been quickly exposed while SI was selling them? I'm not so sure the watch is in fact counterfeit.
