Hotels.com Complaint - Hotels.com Charged $84 More Than The Hotel Itself
When I checked out of a Santa Barbara hotel, the hotel mistakenly charged me directly for the room. I was surprised to see that the fee was $284 instead of the $359 that hotels.com had charged me. I asked the hotel if they had forgotten the "extra-guest" fee for my husband (it was just the 2 of us) and they said that they never charge extra for a second guest! I can't believe that hotels.com charges extra for the second person! And the room rate and taxes were much higher than the hotel itself charges.
When I called hotels.com they said they'd refund the difference if I faxed a copy of the bill the hotel gave me. But when I called back, the hotels.com rep said, "No, we don't refund the difference anymore."
I guess this happens to them all the time. I would never use their service again!
