Arizona State Correctional Facility Complaint - State Prison regularly overcooks my steak dinners

Review by Anonymous on 2003-11-06
MESA, ARIZONA -- I feel that the prison system takes advantage of the fact that I am stuck here and repeatedly refuses to cook my steak medium-rare, as I regularly request it. It is always too tough and ruins the flavor. I end up throwing it away and resorting to eat just the shrimp pasta, which is not filling. Also, the steak sauce that used to be A1 is now some generic version that doesn't taste as good. I would like to file a lawsuit. If there are any attorneys out there who will take my case please right me in this forum. This is only the tip of the iceburg on what goes on here. Also, the community pool is often dirty and over chloranated and erates my eyes. I mentioned this to the guards, but they will only give me goggles and tell me if I don't like it I should not swim. Plus, several weights have been missing from the weight room, and haven't been replaced for months. Things are going downhill fast, even for a prison. Any attorney who wants to represent me will get half of whatever I recover. Thank You.

No one feels bad for you convict. Put a fork in it, oh wait, they don't give you guys forks do they? How about a "spork".

Just how often do they serve Steak and Shrimp in prison? Unless it's you're last day on death row and it's what you requested, I suspect not very often. So if you really do eat like you say, be thankful. Many prisoners have to settle for grilled cheese or meatloaf.

I have never heard of a prison that had a pool. I think this is another fake complaint.

I just checked back to find that no attorneys have yet offered to take my case, just you idiots above who don't know crap about prison life. If you aren't an attorney, don't bother writing -- I don't have time for you!

Instead of complaining about the food, you should focus on getting out. Then you can go out to eat and get a steak any way you like it!

Hardy Har Har.
I'm pretty sure this is a joke, and if not, who gives a rat's behind about your poor prison life.
Be glad you have a nice warm bed to sleep in, a roof over your head, and a work out gym and food at all. And you know what, we pay for all of it, while you just sit there soaking it all up. You should have been out in the world, going to school (because your spelling sucks), getting a job, and working hard to make a good life for yourself. But, instead, you followed the wrong path. Sorry, buddy, no sympathy from me!

You get to eat steak in prison? And go swimming to boot? I've never been to prison, but now I can see why so many people have, and keep returning there after they get out. This is really pissing me off!

When serving large quantities of people we don't have the luxury of making food exatcly as one person requests it. May I suggest good behavior, it will get you out sooner, then you can get whatever you want.

I just want to give you guys an update. I now have a public defender who is representing me and I hope to have quality meals soon. We have a hearing before a judge on Monday> I'll keep you guys posted!

You are one of the reasons why prisoners should starve. You are eating better then half the people on this board! Though I think your just some idiot looking for attention, you need to quit complaining about how your food is being made, especially when it is coming out of the taxpayer's pocket.

Yeah, ok, give it up. Even if this WERE real, I would not feel sorry for your pathetic ass. Maybe if you would not have committed a crime, you wouldn't have to worry about such things, and actually have to pay for your food like the rest of us. Besides, I truly doubt that the prison lets you access the internet. It would be too risky. Prison should be a punishment, not a hotel with free room and board for the guests.

I agree, there is no such prison that has a pool and also lets you access the internet...if he has been to prison....he has probably plead mental problems.

Aww this is so funny. Such a good joke. Too bad I'm not falling for it.

Boo Hoo Hoo. You end up in prison and get steak at every tax paying citizens expenses. Excuse me while I go puke.

I really hope none of you are seriously stupid enough to fall for this crap! Like an inmate is going to have access to the internet! C'mon people! Wake up! This character has nothing better to do than to post false complaints and you are humoring him enough to respond thinking that this numbnut is getting steak in prison and one with a pool at that!?!?! Get a life!

You are hilarious! What a great gag. A prisoner complaining of the poor way a steak is cooked, etc. I do get resentful of the fact inmates get better medical care than I do. I can't afford insurance or the doctor bills. Inmates get it all for free. Sucks

They serve steak in prison? And have a weight room? AND A POOL?! No wonder our crime rate is up. We should go back to putting prisoners in torture chambers.

I worked at ASPC/Florence, and I can guarantee you, there are no swimming pools. While the food is usually better than what I can afford to feed my family (tongue, for instance,) they do not get steaks where they can request how they are cooked. When you have convicts preparing meals for over a thousand at a time, you don't have the luxury of asking for a medium rare steak. Besides, most of the inmates couldn't care less if it is raw or well done, and would probably not be able to tell the difference.

Ummm, you're in PRISON.....not the Waldorf. You don't sound like you're being mistreated or singled out. You're eating well---steak and shrimp--and you have recreational opportunities. Maybe you should use your time to better advantage. There are free men and women everywhere, probably closer than you think, that don't have what you get at society and the public's expense. Stop whining---loser.
