Deceptive Practices And False Remedies
WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS -- Has anyone ever won a credit card issue with them without getting legal advice? Am not a dead beat credit card borrower. Last Sept had prostrate cancer and had the prostate taken out. was out of work for four months and kept up with all my payments some payments were 40 days late so naturally the over limit fees and late fees kicked in. I have three other cards and all under limit and current. Those other companies all had hardship programs and worked with me. All four cards total $4,250 not a great amount of debt but its there. Washington Mutual card has a $1,000 balance. With the over limit fees adding on as I made my mim payments I set up a payment program with them and made three payments in 45 days of $72.00 each to get me under the limit and to get me current. Heres the problem, after last payment they still added over the over limit fee of $39.00. I complained and spoke to a supervisor. She stated that the person who set up the payment program calulated wrong and she then corrected the over limit fee and said I needed $10.00 more to correct problem, which I paid. All this transpired on may Ist 2008. After paying interest and late fees of over $300.00 for 2 months I get a statement six days later stating I am over limit of $19.50 sure enough $39.00 over limit fee applied. well any way you get the jus of the story. This all happened with the fraudent statements or maybe mistakes on their part but I am now tired of dealing with these legal predatory fees.
