Discovery Automotive Complaint - Land Rover Specialist - NOT!!
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- Terrible service. Service engine light comes on and we take it to Discovery and they look the car over and give estimate of $1380.81 to fix problem and to do 60K maintenance and replace brake pads. Car is returned and engine light comes on again that same day. We take it back and he says that it is a process of elimination in finding the problem after his initial diagnostic test. Car is returned to us but tells us car is fine to drive with engine light on and initial problem still not fixed.
Car is driven approximately 30 miles and car completely shuts off on major highway at 11:15 pm, losing all power (thank goodness it was my husband driving and not me with my three small children in the car). Car is towed to AAA Automark Car Care Center (4618 Atlantic Ave Raleigh)who by the way did an awesome job. They diagnose the problem on to be the crank shaft position sensor and inform us that we need an oil change because the tech found it "wet underneath reservoir. Oil over filled" and that the "power steering fluid was low and dark". These are just a few things that were supposed to be done on the 60K maintenance service done by Discovery. Now we are back to square one with the Service Engine Light still on and every time we drive it we are afraid that it will cut off on us. We have called Dave the manager and owner and he says that he bears no responsibility and insists that everything on maintenance service was provided.
An added note, he took it upon himself to put a license plate cover on our back plate without our knowledge and we have been driving around advertising his business as a Land Rover Specialist! I would NEVER want to give him anyone's business. We are in a worse position now than when we took it to Discovery and problem has not been fixed.
