DHL Complaint - Extremely poor quality of service from DHL - Overstock.com suffers as a result
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a mirror from Overstock and it was shipped to me via DHL. It was supposed to be delivered to me on June 2 (I wasn't home). So I come home expecting to see the tag letting me know that they tried to deliver it - but no tag. So I go online to track the package and online, the status is delivered. Confused at this point, I call the DHL guys who tell me that they delivered it to the wrong address, realized it was the incorrect address so they retrieved the package and will deliver it to me on June 4. I am a little annoyed, but ok ... mistakes happen. So I stay home on June 4, cause I really want this mirror ... but NO DHL. I call them up late afternoon, and this time they tell me that they can't deliver the mirror because it is broken (the box sounds like it has broken glass). So I have to go down to the DHL office and get the broken mirror myself.
I call Overstock to tell them what happened, and they very nicely send me a replacement by 2nd day service. Unfortunately, it's sent by DHL. The replacement mirror was supposed to arrive on June 6. June 6 comes and goes ... no mirror!!! I called DHL in the evening and the lady I spoke to can't tell me where the mirror is. On June 7 I see an update that it transited through Fresno. Great! Maybe I'll get my mirror today. I called this morning (June 9) and they again don't know where it is ... still waiting for this mirror. Isn't a delivery company supposed to know where the packages are?? And deliver them without breaking them?? Specially when the box is marked FRAGILE in big bold letters!!!
I have registered a complaint with DHL - let's see what happens. Maybe that will get lost as well :-)
Net ... DHL is a very poorly run company with terrible service. And they will ruin any company they partner with ... Overstock etc would be well advised to dump DHL and go with one of the other two (FEDEX or UPS). Hell, USPS is better than DHL.
