Taka Motors Informative - Disgust With US Autos

Review by Scrap on 2008-06-11
TAKA Auto manufacturer in INDIA is the foremost creator of economical transportation. TAKA has now produced an auto that will travel at speeds of 58 mph for a total of 25 miles on nothing but compressed AIR! The engine will run on most anything, and uses left-over exhaust to cool the interior. The price for this "life-giver" (In INDIA is $2,400. Over here in the US we would have to pay about $12,000. BUT, we will never see this auto due to safety restrictions, and (Probably BIG OIL/ BIG AUTO). Compressed air cars had been used in Mexico City for quiet some-time.

The name of the company is TATA motors. The company also recently bought the Jaguar and Land Rover brands from Ford. TATA's recent claim to fame is a $2500 car, called the "Nano", that is basic and bare bones, and is powered by a small two cylinder engine, similar to the micro cars and keicars sold in Europe and Asia. The Nano supposedly gets 55-60 miles per gallon. If this car does ever make it to the US, it will probably end costing $7000-$8000 minimum, since the vehicle would have to be modified to meet US safety and emissions standards.

I would love to see a compressed-air powered car sold in the US. It would be the ultimate answer to high gasoline prices.

GenuineNerd is right and my comments:

Still need energy (meaing cost) to compress air but gets the pollution from the city streets to electric generation stations far away, hopefully.
