Texas Trust Credit Union Complaint - Don't Bank At Texas Trust Credit Union Unless You Have A Long Time To Wait!

GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS -- I have been a member of Texas Trust Credit Union in Grand Prairie, TX for 40 years. This is the old LTV Credit Union for Vought employees. Texas Trust now has open membership. While I like their CD and savings interest rates, they are sadly lacking on customer service! It gets worse every year.

Last year, my husband and I went to the Grand Prairie location to purchase a CD. They direct you to wait in an area for the next customer service representative. There were 8 people ahead of us, and at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon, they only had 1 rep to do the work. We waited almost an hour, and their excuse was "everyone's at lunch". At 2 p.m.? We decided the next time they make us wait this long for a simple transaction, we'll order a pizza to eat in the lobby while we're waiting. I contacted Jim Gray, President of Texas Trust, but he only gave excuses.

Yesterday, June 11, 2008, I went to the Arlington, TX location to stop payment on a lost check. It was 1:15 p.m., and they only had one customer service rep in the building and she was busy chatting with a friend. After waiting 20 minutes of their chatter, I asked the receptionist how much longer it was going to be and why there was only one person available. Again, "everyone's at lunch" was the excuse. He called the customer service rep (whom I could both see and hear) asking how much longer it would be. She said she was too busy to see me, and that she had an important 2:00 p.m. client coming in and I'd just have to wait until after that. Being Anglo, she and her girlfriend were both black, and I think she was power playing me. I told the receptionist that I was going to once again contact the President of the credit union, but decided My3Cents would be the best way to warn other people.

DON'T join this credit union unless you want extremely bad customer service or unless you have the time to wait, and wait, and wait....Take your money and business elsewhere!

You've conducted business with this outfit for 40 years. That seems important. I would have pointed that out to the staff. While it's possible you were being racially 'powerplayed' it is unfortunate that you included that possibility in your post. The staff was enjoying a nice conversation until you 'intruded' and expected service in a timely fashion.

so credit unions are no better than any other banking institution.
