Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Ashamed Of The Policy And Customer Service
EL CERETO, CALIFORNIA -- Wow! Wish I had known earlier. Now I am confident that enterprise is not the rental place I want to be. They had their time in the marker and now they are going downhill.
My problem: They do not rent you the car they promise when you are taken to their office. It is not the service they want to provide but the only intention is to get you into a car and then it is your problem after that.
Where: California, El Cereto
What Happened: I rented a car two days before the delivery. I checked to find out if they had GPS, was told that only airports have it. I told her that if that also meant the quality of care was compromised. I was confidently assured that was not the case.
The De-Day: Get picked-up by a nice courteous person, takes me to the office to tell me that was not getting the car she came to pick me up with but they only had a "Ford Focus". My reservation was a "Mid size Car". Agreed to wait till she looked for what I asked for. I waited 1 full hour with out any development. Decided to get into what they had, Dented front, broken glove box, stained seat.
I did not have the choice. Half way to my destination to Sacramento, my back started to bother me. Next day called Enterprise office at Elkgrove (686-6000) and was reminded that I can not change the car. Got number for regional office (415-892-8000). I was nicely reminded by the assistant to the vice president of enterprise (Sue) that I should not have got into the car if I did not want to.
What is my problem: I know that I did not have to get in to the car they were providing. However, I trusted the name "Enterprise", First I expected that they would provide me the care I reserved. If they could not they would take the steps to make sure they provide me a close alternative. You reader tell me if the above description is the close alternative? When I tried to ask for help higher above, I was show the book....I repeatedly asked if that was what the official version of Enterprise, she introduced herself as the assistant to the Vice President....
Do you think this is how a business to be run ? I don't, especially a national/international business...
It is really a shame that a reputable business like enterprise would steep so low to cover their incompetence.
Oh! The reason I resorted to this site was when I went online for a "Live Chat" I was the 4th person in a line... why call live chat, why not online attendant.
