Enterprise Rent-A-Car Informative - A Great Way To Work!
OTTUMWA, IOWA -- I have been reading a lot of reviews, both good and bad, about Enterprise Rent a Car. The complaints have ranged from dirty cars, to missing cars, to rude customer service reps, to unkept reservations. As a former Enterprise employee I must let everyone know that it is VERY difficult as an employee to not have a car ready for a customer. We are trained to have the BEST attitudes and give our customers the BEST experience possible with ANY company they use. The unfortunate part is... sometimes things don't play out as they should. A really hard thing is this... when you DO EVERYTHING right, but get a customer that will NEVER be satisfied... even if you gave them the rental for FREE!!! I had a customer that we gave a free DOUBLE UPGRADE... didn't charge additional driver fees and we even got the car PROFESSIONALLY detailed before his rental and he still gave us a bad report. We were on time and were EXTREMELY friendly... his complaint???
Our phone rang three times while he was signing the paperwork and we had to answer it. Just like some people have bad experiences getting a rental car the rental car companies also have HORRIBLE customer experiences. We... though... have to learn to brush them off and SMILE for the next customer. Enterprise rent a car was one of the BEST jobs I ever had... regardless of the customers. They train their employees so very well... and pay AMAZING amounts of money for a job well done. There is a bonus opportunity around every corner and EVERYONE in the company is held with high regard... from CEO Andy Taylor down to the newest car prep! You are in charge of your career and only you can decide where it starts and stops. This company is a family... when my family started to grow I needed to get into a higher paying job... but I miss it everyday!
Even with its flawed customer service experiences you have to admit Enterprise is different than any other company out there. If you had a bad experience... hopefully you reported it to an Area or Group Rental Manager... they will make it better. I have seen a manager completely remove all charges because a cup holder was too dirty. I don't suggest ripping the company off, but I do suggest bargaining... you never know how far it will take you!
