D8idea Complaint - Service not provided by D8idea and DateCard USA

Review by trunchball on 2008-06-16
D8idea charged us $1992.00 to introduce us to their date base of clients. The company offered a three month guarantee of our money back if the introduction proved unbeneficial to our company. In short we didn't even get one visitor from their so called database never mind make a sale so we requested our money back. I might point out that D8idea was also in breach of contract prior to our refund request as they did not make the introduction on the dates they said they would. Anyhow, whenever we asked them for our money back they said it would be paid by the end of the day,by the end of the month, it was in the post, etc., etc. In the end we got tired of the lies and asked them for a specific date when we could expect our refund; they then said they were restructuring D8idea and that although they couldn't say when we would be refunded we would eventually be paid. Its now over six months since we requested our refund and we have now accepted that d8idea are never going to pay us.

We would therefore warn other companies to be on their guard if they are approached by D8idea and asked for money. Our web guy has special software and we know that not one person from D8idea's database visited our site.

My guess is you failed to read the contract before entering into it. Or, at least, didn't do any research on this company.

I just perused their Terms & Conditions. It is very one-sided and restrictive. Regardless of what they may have told you verbally they are going to hold you to this statement:

"Privilege Member fees are non- refundable. However, should the circumstances dictate or require special refund consideration; D8 Idea will determine the amount and time restraints concerning refunds based on circumstances and individual Privilege Membership. Regardless, the initial joining fee remains non refundable."

EDUCATION is what you get when you read the fine print. EXPERIENCE is what you get when you don't.

$1992 isn't that much compared to what some of the other dating services cost, some of them are upwards of $5000.The problem with most of them is that the contracts they make you sign are very resrictive and mostly unfair....and it is a rare event when they actually succeed in matching anyone.
