Priceline.com Complaint - Did not stand behind their word.
I had a wonderful sales consultant who walked me through the process. He made me feel I was getting a really good deal because I told him about the quotes I had received earlier that afternoon from two other travel agencies. I thanked him for his time after he quoted me, and then he told me about the 110% best price guarantee. He said they would match the price I had received that was $174.20 lower than priceline and then take off 110% discount. This would bring my new total to $2493.00. SOunded like a great deal to me, so I booked it and called priceline.com the next day to discuss the pricematch. THey informed me that the quote they advertise to match has to be viewable when you log into the website. A e-mailed quote (even if it is within 24 hrs.) does not count as a quote. If I would have known this I would not have booked the cruise. I had to cancel the cruise with priceline, and book the other cruise. I was forced to pay $115 to priceline to cancel and for fees. I am very disapointed in the priceline name. I will tell everyone of the poor customer service and inability to make things right as they had promised. What a bad experience. This was the first time I had attempted to use Priceline.com. Guess I learned my lesson the hard way. No guarantee is ever what they say. They can find loopholes out of everything. I hope no one else has this problem.
