Circuit City Complaint - False Advertising
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA -- Okay, so today the new Coldplay CD (Viva la Vida) came out and Circuit City advertised that they would be giving away free t-shirts when you buy the CD. I drove 60 miles round-trip (which was the nearest store to me) to get the CD. When I was checking out, the cashier informed me that they never received the shirts. Obviously, I was a little pissed about this because I had driven so far to get this special deal. To make matters worse, I called before I went to the store to make sure they still had the CD.
No one answered the phone! When I asked them what they were going to do about this problem, they said that they couldn't do anything about it...sorry. I felt they were a little callous to their customers, because they shouldn't have advertised t-shirts if they weren't going to deliver the goods. When I got home, I called the corporate office to lodge a complaint. Again, the person treated my problem as no big deal, and it was just an unfortunate mistake. I know that it wasn't the stores fault that no shirts arrived, but they should at least take my complaint seriously and offer some sort of compensation.
I specifically went out of my way to buy the CD at Circuit City because of this "great deal". I mean, I could of gone down my street to target or best buy, but I choose Circuit City. It seems to me that they care very little about their customers' satisfaction with their products. This incident has certainly made me not want to shop from them again!!
