Home Depot Informative - Horrible Customer Service
SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA -- We have been working on our house for the past three months. We average 2-3 trips to Home Depot per week. On our last trip to San Rafael, we returned to the parking lot to find that shopping carts had crashed into our new car. We filed a claim with the store manager who said, "Wow, that is really bad. I have seen worse though. This happens all the time here." These comments lead me to believe that this is a consistent problem at the store and there is not enough staff to gather the carts regularly. We got a call back from "customer service" telling us that Home Depot is not responsible and we were out of luck.
No apology letter, no offer to pay for the deductible, no gift card, no 10% off coupon. Just a, "Once our insurance has made a decision, we aren't even allowed to discuss the matter." Now that is fantastic customer service! Geico assessed the damage at $2500 and we have a $500 deductible. (Who knows if our premium will go up?) Before this, I may have been able to overlook the ill-equipped staff and the fact that someone walking in off the street could find items easier than the employees.
Now, I'll be shopping at Lowes.
