DirecTV Inc Complaint - Poor Programming
FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA -- Yes, I also had some problems with my initial order placement, but that did get resolved. My complaint afterwards has been PROGRAMMING. We had dropped DirecTV for several years until a few months back after deciding to try satellite service again. We used to find more programming within the Family or certainly the Choice package that we would enjoy watching than we have this time around. We are disappointed. They proclaim to be at the top of customer satisfaction, BUT COMPARING TO WHAT? If there is no good benchmark to compare against, what good is being on top? If I had seen more consumer feedback on their programming (why I am taking the time to post this), I would not have signed up.
Perhaps if DirecTV becomes more customer oriented to give customers what they want instead of what they want them to accept and perhaps start polling customers for what programming they would like to see in certain packages or on certain channels, DirecTV might actually become something more people will not wish to be without. In these tight economic times, if we have to trim our household budget(which may be coming), DirecTV would be on top of the short list! We pay too much for service not to see programming we like and we shouldn't have to buy the whole pie (premium package pie)if you just want one good piece of it here and there!
I have the choice package and really don't get much use at all beyond the local channels, News network and occasional good AMC or TMC movie (not as good a programming there either as it used to be). I called and emailed DirecTV about it and they just tell you the problem is with their program providers! THAT BE THE CASE, THEN THEY NEED TO SPEAK TO THEIR PROVIDERS. It is very obvious that DIrecTV packages programming the way they do to MAKE consumers have to buy the premium package to get SOMETHING they want to watch at any given time.
I for one will be watching for better and more reasonable options for TV to come along.
