DirecTV Inc Complaint - Liars
DERRY, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- It appears my experience is not uncommon. I just moved into a home in the country(N.H) and decided to get Direct TV as I thought that Comcast was not hooked into the area because that was the info from a new neighbor. I ordered the service and a DVR which never arrived with installation. I called numerous times and was told 3 stories. The first being it was in the mail? As time passed (4 weeks later), I received my DVR but it came with a technician that said they do not ship them, they must be installed? Of the 3 months I had this service, I had 4 weeks combined with no TV. When I called them they said that the problem was probably caused by the fact that I live in the woods, ( Trees effect the reception) and because I live near a body of water) which messes up the signal. I asked why this info was not told to me when it was being installed as it is quite obvious I live beside a lake in the woods. I spent countless hours on hold being transferred to be disconnected.
I cancelled their service and paid the bill, returned the equipment and then got an additional bill for a 2 year commitment for the DVR, (241$). I must add that the crappy service went out at the beginning of the Superbowl and the shows I was interested in I could not watch because of the interference that was ongoing for the time I had it. I am now getting harassing phone calls from collectors who by the way, on the last call was from a guy who said the same thing happened to him but how ironic he asked that he now has to do collections from a company he admitted he tells people to avoid.
This company stinks and the way they handle things makes you feel like they couldn't care less. Stay away from this company, they are sharks.
