Howard Johnsons Hotel Complaint - Bad Place To Stay

Review by NevOldFart on 2008-06-25
TUCSON, ARIZONA -- My daughter had pre-paid for a week at the Howard Johnsons in Tucson AZ. and when she arrived she was approached by a drug dealer as she went to her room. She observed that there were a number of deals going on and several hookers in the parking lot. She requested her money back and was told she could not get it. She had to get another hotel out of fear for herself and her children.

It was later found that this is a well known drug "market" and does not work with the police to clean it up. When Howard Johnsons was called they said all the hotels are owned by others and they can not do anything about how they are run.

I would advise against staying at Howard Johnsons.

Hmmmmm? Could we get that address please?

Just kidding of course, thanks for the heads up on the place. Was in Tucson last october, love that town, we were up on the hill at the Westward Look though. (VH)

I'm not surprised that a refund was declined by the place. The owner/management is likely well aware of the conditions you allege. You did others a great service by posting your review here. You might try sending the joint a letter demanding a refund and asserting that the management fails to address dangerous issues under their control. A friendly lawyer might even put this on his/her letterhead for a few bucks and could use the FoIA to obtain police records for calls to this address. Might be worth a try depending on how much $ a week at HJ costs. Thanks for a helpful review.
