T-Mobile Informative - After Cancelling With T-Mobile, Your MyAlbum Account Is Deactivated Immediately
Although this topic may seem obvious, I was not aware that I wouldn't even have a day to retrieve my pictures. I'm sixteen, and my parents decided to switch to Verizon because we were disgusted with the inconsistent phone service we received. While we were switching services, I realized that I did not retrieve my pictures off of the website. I had asked the Verizon worker if he thought that T-Mobile would delete my account immediately, and he said that he did not know.
I went home and went online, and to my dismay, when I logged onto MyAlbum, it gave me a message saying, "T-Mobile's records indicate that your account is not currently active. Please call Customer Care at 1-800-937-8997 for further assistance." However, I hoped that because it knew that I was inactive that it might not have completely erased my data. I called the customer service and received no help. She simply said that I could not access the database if I was no longer with T-mobile. I then tried to ask her if SHE could access my account, and she simply repeated, in a disgusted and impatient tone, that I could not access the database - which was no longer my question.
I'll try the number again in the evening and hope for a different representative, but I just wanted to get the word out that if you plan on switching from T-mobile to a different provider, then retrieve your pictures and videos off of myAlbum first. You won't be able to log onto the myAlbum account the second you switch and you will probably receive incompassionate help, if not a lack of help, from the representatives.
I want to emphasize that this is an informative post because I admit that it was my fault that I did think about my account before we cancelled the provider. There is a complaining undertone because I'm disgusted with there "customer support" (I only cancelled the provider two days ago, and when I was a customer, I did not receive any sort of help that was more beneficial). If anything changes the second time I call, I'll post again to inform any readers if they were able to retrieve my information for me, but due to past experiences, I don't expect much.
