Best Buy Complaint - non working video camera
DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA -- my son asked me a few years ago for a video camera. i promised him when he became a teenager i would get him one. on his 13th birthday my husband went to best buy in daytona beach and bought him one for 299.00. he was so excited on his birthday, and he video taped his own party. when he went to playback the camera ate his tapes and no longer worked. i didn't take it back right away-i have my own business and work 6 days a week. when itook it back i did not have a receipt and they somehow looked up the sale by the day we bought it. we had paid cash. i wasn't aware of the 14 day return policy it is posted nice and big at the return dept. though. however since it was only a few days over they decided to exchange it. i asked the video department if they had previous problems and they said no. however.after refusing an extended warranty the clerks whole attitude changed and she immediatly brought out a form for me to sign that said we were unable to return the new camera. foolishly i signed it since i had been waiting so long in the return line.which was actually longer than the purchase line. that same day we got the camera home it did not work. i contacted the corporate office and all they did was press on the 14 day issue. i contacted sony via email but didn.t get a response. now we have very dissapointed son and a 299.00 worthless video camera.
