Dish Network Complaint - How Can I Get Out Of The Contract And Pay The Least Amount Of Money?
HAMPTON, GEORGIA -- The saying "you get what you pay for" is so true, Comcast cost a lot more but the service was 100% better.
We have had the Dish Netowrk a whole 39 days and it is the worst system I have ever used. It is off more than it's ever been on. Unfortunately we've got a 2 year contract.
We've had "technicians" (using term loosely) out here 2x already & another appointment scheduled for next weekend because we can't keep losing pay for them to fix this system AND pay for it too.
Anyway, we've pretty much decided to cancel Dish and pay the associated cancellation fees.
But after reading some reviews on this site and a few other places, at this point I'm just trying to figure out how we can escape paying the least amount.
A Dish rep told us today we'd have to pay a $240 cancellation fee (which worries me because an hour ago a different rep said $230). I have read online that some people had to pay exhorbitant cancellation fees to a "third party" (the name I read most was All SAT) which I assumed is the installation company? that's what worries me, along with having to return this equipment & them taking money off of my husband's debit card - we can't afford to have monies deducted & try to get them back later we're living check to check as it is. hubby said he didn't give that info to dish directly since he ordered via AT&T but they are obviously in cahoots & based on what I've read Dish manages to deduct money from people's accounts even without having that info.
I'm thinking we should just suck it up for a few months so we can at least avoid that installation company fee?
We obtained this service via AT&T (who I assume would be the "third party" in our case), which will not accept any responsibility even though they are the ones who recommended Dish and constantly try to sell their bundle package. We finally took it and now I'm sorry we did. I tried calling AT&T to confirm if we'd have to pay them any fees for cancelling Dish but they are closed for the holiday.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to avoid this third party fee & how long we'd have to keep Dish to do that, please post here or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org We would really appreciate any help.
