Vonage Complaint - Vonage Rips People Off I'm Thinking Class Action Lawsuit
I ordered Vonage in March of 2007. I received the equipment and within a week I decided that it was going to be a less complicated keeping the phone service that I had. I called customer service and a representative gave me a return authorization number and I shipped it if I remember correctly to the East Coast. Then over one year later I receive a notice from a collection agency saying I owe Vonage $175.72. I call the collection agency Penn Credit Corp and of course I was treated very rudely so then I decided to call Vonage themselves.
The first lady keeps me on hold for a couple of minutes to "investigate" and then it just so happens that I am disconnected so I call back and the second lady I spoke with acknowledged that I returned the equipment within the 30 day time period but that they charge a $175.72 disconnection fee. So the bottom line is Vonage advertises a "free" trial period to get you to order their service and then they turn around and slap you with a disconnection fee.
I cringe whenever I think about their TV commercial because I think well another sucker is going to get ripped off. I don't take messing with my credit lying down so I am going to pursue finding out about a class action lawsuit to get this matter cleared up.
