Gateway Complaint - Don't Ever Send Your Computer In For Service!
LAVERGNE, TENNESSEE -- I bought my laptop from Best Buy in August 2007. Three weeks ago my headphone port in the front became loose and only the left side could be heard. I called gateway support and since my computer was still under warranty the technician told me to send it in for repair. He told me it was going to be a 7-10 day turnaround.
After 2 weeks of waiting, I finally called them and asked what the hold up was. They told me it was still being repaired. Yesterday I get a call from a Tracy telling me that is has been "determined" that it was a CUSTOMER DAMAGE ISSUE and I would have to pay $200.00 for the repair which included anything that had been done to my computer so far..ie...diagnostics,anti-virus scan, etc... I did NOT damage my computer and for someone to say I did is outrageous!
DO NOT send your computer in for repair, so they can DETERMINE YOU are the one to damage it so they can recoup their costs! I am telling all my friends and family to never buy a Gateway computer because they are a SHEISTY business! Shame on you Gateway!
