Olevia TV Informative - Olevia TV files for bankruptcy

Review by 32031 on 2008-07-10
The company that makes Olevia TV has filed for bankruptcy protection. That means if you have an Olevia TV the warranty has become worthless. If you bought one in the past couple of weeks try to return it. You shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee because the warranty won't be honored.

Thats too bad. They make great LCDs at an affordable price. I bought one at the beginning of the year and have not had any problems. I was thinking of buying another one towards the end of the year for the bedroom. Might have to buy it sooner than expected. Hopefully Target will lower their prices to clear out their inventory.

Hopefully parts and service should still be available for at least a few years. Also, Olevia (Syntax-Brillian) assembled some of their TV's in the US...one of the last US TV manufacturers.

Update: I've discovered that Olevia will continue to provide warranty service during their bankruptcy proceedings.
