Cheaptickets.com Complaint - Rental Car Protection Policy Rejection And Surcharge Problems
GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA -- I had a problem with Cheaptickets.com, regarding reservations. I reserved a car rental with them, at a price that included their car rental insurance plan at $18. I got to the rental desk, and they said they did not know what it is, and asked if I wanted the company's policy instead.
After calling Priceline, and speaking with a person who barely spoke English..., they said, oh, sorry, here's the number for our credit department, call them to refund your $18. So I got the policy through the car rental company, and when I got to my destination I called the credit department of Priceline. They told me that since it was the day of the rental, that they could not cancel the policy over the phone, but that I had to fax in a copy of the car rental company's agreement as proof of taking their policy instead... Ok, run me through another hoop. But when I got home and tried to fax it to them, the number they gave me was busy, multiple times!!! I called back and got a different fax number now... Who knows if they'll ever give me my $18...
Bet this is how they make all their money - wait for people to give up on the red tape!!! I will never use Cheaptickets again.
