Home Depot Informative - Rigid Air Compressor from Home Depot

I purchased the OL50145MW Rigid Air Compressor at Home Depot on 4/30/08. The compressor stopped working within weeks (bad regulator), and I took it into Home Depot to be repaired on 06/30/2008. I was charged $35.00 at this time, after a very lengthy wait at the Customer Service counter by associates who gave me the impression that I was interfering with their time (REF #W04 SKU #515-664). I picked up the "repaired" compressor on 07/14/2008, was informed that the product is not under warranty, and charged an additional $39.38. Again, I was forced to endure an impossibly long wait, despite the fact that the Customer Service desk had more Home Depot Associates than customers to serve. I then noticed the handle on the compressor had been badly bent while in the possession of Home Depot, and is no longer functional as intended. I informed the Home Depot associate of the problem, and he told me they would have to send the compressor off again to be repaired. Needless to say, I declined, and took the damaged compressor.
I purchased a Rigid compressor, in part, because I was under the impression that Rigid tools carry warranties as good or better than any one else in the industry. Obviously, I was mistaken.
My company spends a great deal of money between Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement each year. If my poor experience with Home Depot in general, and Rigid tools in particular, are not addressed to our satisfaction, I am absolutely certain that we will never spend another dollar at Home Depot, or on Rigid Products.
