Aimco Complaint - Rent Control - Apartment

Review by Jolyndon on 2008-07-15
LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS -- Since I have lived in these apartments, they have added a water bill and have gone from 639.00 to 747. monthly plus another 45 or so for water. They have promised me new carpet if I signed the lease for another year. It has been two months and I have no new carpet. They are even billing me for hot water which is sometimes higher than the total water I have used. We have a boiler. They have also threatened to tow my car if I do not get the alternator fixed.

I do not have the money to get it fixed because my rent is so high. I am a single Mom and I can not afford to move because I can't get far enough ahead to do so.

Sounds like it is time to move. Good luck.

many apartment complexes have rules against non-moving vehicles. if not, then the parking lot would be full of junk cars and vehicles needing repaired.

if you have it in writting that you were offered new carpet, contact the local housing authority. they have lawyers that deal with dead beat landlords.
if you have nothing in writting, then I am affraid you are out of luck.
