American Express Van Lines, LLC Complaint - Moving Nightmare... - Moving Company

Review by Linda90503 on 2008-07-20
TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA -- I relocated from NV to CA the first part of June 2008. In April 2008, the representative coming to my home in NV to review the contents of my home and give me a written estimate. The written I received that evening quoted a moving cost of $3,350; and, stated "final". I was told there would be NO additional changes at the time of the move.

This was a corporate relocation, so, I had the same company pack my items. The price of packing included "Packing Material". I was told the movers would take very good care of my furniture by wrapping everything in quilted blankets.

When my belongings arrived the next day in CA....I had broken furniture that included my daughter's nightstand and a moveable pantry.

When the "professional" movers packed my belongings, it looked like they just dumped everything into boxes. And, don't get me started on the packing tape they used on EVERYTHING! I'm still digging out from their mess and pulling packing tape off my belongings.

Being this was a corporate move, I should have hired a more well known and professional company. But when we, as comsumers hire someone we're entitled to the quality of service they advertise. Since I paid the money in full, thye have not returned my calls or email regarding the awful experience with my move.

Do not hire this company! Learn from my mistake.....please.
