Outback Steakhouse Complaint - Food Preparation
NEW YORK -- Have been going to the Outback almost weekly for many years. Was one of a handful of restaurants that would serve their Prime rib "medium rare" as ordered, along with their excellent Outback seasoning. In 2007, everything began to deteriorate just before and continued after the company went private. Happy hour disappeared. Wine now served in gigantic glass but only 6 ounces. Most important, food prep really began to deteriorate. If you want "medium rare" prime rib, now you have to order it rare. Even then, it will probably be served "medium". I sent back a 16 oz rib. It weighed 13.5 oz. What was an excellent Outback seasoning, is now very weak and sparse or the don't put it on even when asked to. The rib was always reliably tender. Not so any more. I now visit every couple of months, just to see if there's any improvement. So far, "No". The service is excellent. There's a management problem. When I complained to the company online, I meant it to be constructive criticism. They mailed me a comp card for my next dinner which was very nice, but I really wanted them to read my complaint and hopefully fix the problem. I have recommended this resaurant to many, many people up until last year and within the past week, one of those people called me to inform me thay had vistited a different Outback restaurant recently and the food was not good.
