Kennedy Space Center Federal Credit Union Complaint - Won't Give Good Customers Overdraft Protection For Checking Accounts

Review by CarolAnn082 on 2008-07-22
DELTONA, FLORIDA -- WE have been using KSC for 3 years and also had account with them many years ago. We have direct deposit with 2 checks, yet they only give you overdraft so called protection on savings well that stupid, if you got that much money in saving you would not want over draft protection,I use to have overdraft protection before, at other banks, but lately FL banks/credit unions and utilities companies seem to only cater to rich they don't care about average, hard working people. I can't wait to get heck out of FL for good,an dgo back to where they care about you,but unfortunately price of homes are terrible here in FL, so until they hopefully rise, were stuck in a terrible city, with unfriendly people, with no nice neighbors, or stores or doctors and rotten hospitals.

Lived in FL 30 yrs and husband is native Floridian and says his home state has gone to hell, they only cater to rich,or rich retired,or military or foreigners. Sad when 4th generation Floridian feels like minority in his own state. And no one cares about anyone anymore, not like back home where I'm from and moving back to New England, we are not perfect up there but many people still believe in old saying love they neighbor as thy self, not here. My neighbors could care if I'm dying. FL has gone to Hell.

Even doctors, hospitals all look at you like $$$$ signs,no more caring about patients, all they care about is making lots money. And now look who is running for president. God Help America. We sure need it now more than ever.

bank of america offers overdraft protection. never had any issues with them.

guess not even a credit union is the 'perfect' choice for banking.

Why would you need overdraft protection? Why not just stay within your means. Don't spend more than what is in your account.

Overdraft protection isn't a tool to use in which to spend more money than you have. It is protection, in case you make a mistake in your register. Yes, yoke, some of us humans down here make a mistake.

On the other hand, I don't know that a credit union not having overdraft protection is a reason to go on a full rant about the state of Florida. It really seems like you have other issues to contend with, and you're only using this credit union as a scape goat. Get a grip.

Seems logical not to write checks ur azz can't cash!

It sounds like the OP's complaints go wayyyyy past overdraft protection. I've never been to Florida but you can probably find someone in every state with similar complaints. The grass is always greener....

calliope, why would the OP be upset that there is no overdraft if she wasn't overdrafting her account. I never knew banks were required to have overdraft for people who can not add or subtract.

I have to agree with Yoke. Do not write checks that you do not have funds in your account to cover. Problem solved. This issue has nothing to do with the "state" of the State of Florida or the quality of life in Florida, or your neighbors in Florida. It has to do with the OP writing checks that she can't cover. I'm sure with the attitude portrayed in this post, the people of Florida will help you pack your U-Haul and pay for the gas to get you back to New England... and please if you ever think of reloacting to the west coast, please reconsider. We are peaceful people. LOL

I have to disagree John, we do not want her in New England.

I have a feeling that the OP's Florida neighbors, doctors, hospitals, elderly, military personnel, 'foreigners', and 'the rich'...are passing a hat around...collecting money for the OP's U-Haul charges and a tank of gas.

LOL Yoke! Ummm, sounds like she's a woman without a country? :)

Our credit union offers OD protection and if you ever use it you have 30 days to pay it back before they asses any finance charges. See what Kennedy Space Center Federal Credit Union has to offer. Or you can link your savings account to cover any OD's. Check it out.
