Create for Less Complaint - Charges For Items Not Shipped!
I have placed my first and last order with this company. I had not ordered from them before because they have high minimums for purchases and I just have not needed that much of any one item – also I have been finding better prices elsewhere. In addition I did not find a good review of them anywhere (didn’t find any bad one but people said they were leery of ordering from them).
Well I could not find this particular item anywhere else so I waited until they had stock and placed and order. It was for 2 separate but related products. When I placed the order, they had stock on both. When I got my receipt they had stock on both. Then when I got my shipping notification, the second item was now out of stock.
They do not do back orders. That means you have to place a new order and pay full shipping and handling (which is high). So I would end up paying more in shipping charges which negates any cost savings forced by their high minimum order.
They also charged me for the full order amount even though they were only shipping part. The revised invoice says $19.09 but the charge to my card is $31.23. Their excuse? They put a hold on the card for the full original order amount then after a few days go back and void the amount, then bill the correct amount.
I thought it was illegal to charge for items not shipped.
In any case, I will not be able to use the product I ordered as planned. I can not return it because I will have to pay for return shipping and they will charge me a restocking fee.
I was already unhappy with this situation. Then when I found out how they have tied up my credit card, I have decided to not order the second item when it comes in. This entire experience has been sufficiently unprofessional and unethical for me to never order from this company again.
ETA: Today they send an email saying they have the missing item available. Today. Yesterday they did not have any and would not for several weeks. Now they have plenty of stock.
This is scam. I did the math. By feigning "no stock" and forcing reorders they are WAY over charging on shipping and handling.
