Americas Best Value Inn Complaint - Americas "Worst" Value Inn's
DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA -- If you are seeking a bargain hotel stay in Daytona Beach Florida stay away from the Americas Best value Inn. There is no bargain here at any price.
My wife and I had the misfortune of staying at Americas Best (WORST) Value Inn at 1305 S. Ridgewood Ave. Daytona Beach Florida over the Fourth of July weekend and to say we were displeased would be an under statement!
Let’s start with the inflated room cost due to the races at the Daytona Speedway. Our room cost us $281.25 for a two night stay from July 4 to July 6. Our Reservations had to be made almost a year in advance to get these rates or it would have been double that amount. A normal weekend stay is at $55.00 a night. And after staying there I would not pay that after experiencing the quality of this motel.
First off I did not realize, until we were into our second night that we were given the wrong room. We reserved a king bed and were given a room with two double beds. Of course this is my fault because I expected the Management that was “non existent” to furnish the room I reserved (a year in advance) and I did not think to check my confirmation at the time of check in.
Second the room we stayed in did not even have a paved parking area unless we wanted to park far away from our room. The room was in various stages of disrepair as evident by the pictures (Go to link at bottom.). The fill valve on the toilet stopped working and we had to fill the tank with water using the trash can in order to flush the toilet. The bath tub was disgusting and the AC could not keep up with the amount of air that was escaping through the crack under the front door, not to mention the bugs that were coming in the same way. There was no coffee maker in the room as advertised and if there was hi speed Internet I could not find it.
The desk clerk had to give us ice from the ice trays from her room refrigerator (real sanitary) because there was no ice machine. And to top it off I took a fall off of the broken steps (with no hand rail) at the end of the walkway and still have a sore back that may need medical attention.
We travel on average of six times a year from South Carolina to Atlanta and this is by far the worst facility we have ever stayed at and if this is the type of place that is associated with Americas Best Value Inn rest assured we will NEVER stay at another ABV Inn again!
The corporate office would not respond to my complaints and the Manager of the hotel finally contacted me after two weeks and insulted me by offering a fifty dollar gift card, for what I don't know.
I am writing this in hope of preventing others from making the same mistake I did. This establishment is another example of a franchise owner exploiting a corporate name for profit and a national corporation that does not care how they are represented. My lesson has been learned and I will better research the next place in stay.
