DirecTV Inc Complaint - Worst Cable Service - Completely Liars
VIRGINIA -- I initially signed up for Cable service knowing I will receive the @29.99 monthly serviced as it was advertised. The salesman on the phone promised to send me an e-mail for all the rebate forms, such as one that would allow me to keep $29.99 monthly service, and some discount for signing on AUTO payment.. I did receive the email with link (Shown Below) and I did fill per instruction and mailed, the first bill showed up it was higher than I anticipated. I called to discuss and I was told it is due to processing delay on the form I mailed or may be lost, but not to worry and it will be credit to my next bill. In addition I was told I will be mailed this rebate form with my next bill. I did not get the rebate form and my bill did not decreased. I was furious and called a second time for help, I believe at that time I changed my service because I was not happy with the big price and as well they did change my fees, but no refund.
Four months down the line, I had emergency come up and had to vacate a place I was living to a different apartment, this time the new apartment does not allow satellite dish there fore, I called to explain and cancel the service. Upon cancellation, I was sent my last bill and a separate $441.83 cancellation fees. When I called to discuss bill, one of the response I got was just like cellular phone we have cancellation fee and yours is $441. As I was negotiating with them they went ahead and charge my American Express Card, this is knowing that I had called them to stop charging to credit card had had not done so for previous 3 monthly bills. I called AMEX to notify them, AMEX requested clarification from DirectTV and because DirectTV could not offer one, I was refunded the total amount.
Saying all them, I do claim responsibility for my part, but DirectTV is not willing to talk to any one. I filled the case with but again no one would even bother to respond to BBB and they refer the matter to Virginia department of Consumer Service. Currently I am filling an additional form to provide information to COMMONWEALTH of Virginia dept. of consumer service. When I say beware, it is highly understatement. I was caught on their $29.99 advertisement hoping to save money but what I got is a lot of headache talking to customer service and over payments monthly. I will continue to fight it, I think it is wrong for big brand name company to continue abuse the system and get away with it. Good luck, if you are in Norther Virginia try COX, great service, great price, I can not say much about them, hope I was lucky to find them first..
