Frosted Mini Wheat Cereal - Complaint
Review by Absolutelydisgusted on 2008-07-28
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- I opened a new box of 24 oz Frosted Mini Wheats Bite Size and when I filled my bowl bugs were crawling! Box # KBA 021 14:06, Exp. Jan 17, 2009 2 [K-1833M, K 141603 009, NLI# 01306].

I then opened another box of 24 oz Frosted Mini Wheats Bite Size but left the interior plastic sealed. Upon examination, a multitude of bugs were crawling! Box # KBA 021, Exp.Dec 09, 2008 [K-1833L, K 141603 008, NLI# 01306].

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

That is disgusting! I had that happen to a bag of brown rice once. It turns out it wasn't the manufacturer, it was the grocery store. Take them back to the store if you have your receipt and ask for a full refund. They are most likely weevils.

Bugs add flavor you know. Didn't they advertise that on the box? LOL!

Those are local bugs - not Battle Creek, MI bugs. Most likely from your local grocer or his warehouse.

Principissa is probably right. Years ago I purchases a box of Wheat Thins that was full of weevils.
Too bad this happened before suing for anything under the sun became the norm. Who knows, weevils could have made me wealthy. :)

I didn't notice the rice was full of bugs til the floated up to the top of a pot of boiling water. It took me a while before I could eat plain brown rice again!

I can not comment on this issue because once I get started, I won't be able to stop and Cherpep will be calling the shrink on me again. :)

Those weevils or beetles that you found were harmless and had you not noticed them you would simply have added a little protein to your diet..fussy, fussy.....
