Ameritrade Complaint - Give Me My Money
I have been trying to move my SEP IRA from Ameritrade to a different brokerage since March. It is now the end of July. They have told me 4 times that the money was ready to transfer and they were on it. Each time I called back, they said "oops, you need to do this other step that no one mentioned last time, we're really sorry." I'm on the phone with them at this moment, and they're being very apologetic for sitting on my money for the last month or month and a half despite my having jumped through the last hoop in early June. Apparently the 3.5 months before that were my fault for believing them when they said the money was ready. They have said the money should be transferred today. We'll see. No consolation prize, though. They offered some free trades, but that does nothing for me since I'm moving my account.
My husband has an account with them as well, and he is having the exact same problems. He's even more upset than I am because was already irritated with Ameritrade. This is because despite requesting several times to not receive emails from them or at least for them to send them to a different email address, they actually send him more email notices than they send me.
