Circuit City Informative - Credit Card Hold Placed On Account At Time Of Online Purchase
I would avoid buying online from Circuit City. They place a $1.00 hold against your account (which is not disclosed) at the time of purchase. I found this out when I went online to confirm the amount of money taken from my bank account at the time of purchase. I noticed this other separate $1.00 charge and called Circuit City's Customer Service. They said my bank does this to make sure the account is open,not true. This is a business policy of Circuit City. It is a "hold" placed by the company supposedly to make sure your account is "open". Clearly if you are purchasing on line and the charge goes through your account is open, so why the $1.00 charge? It is not the amount but the principle of this. No one else I have done business with does this.
I was told by the bank it would drop of on Saturday or Monday (today is Thursday). What a bunch of hogwash. To make matters worse by the time I place my third call to Circuit City I was greeted by a rude person whom, when I requested to speak with a supervisor, was told this was as high as I could go. I did not use any foul language but was forceful and she did not like this. She finally hung up on me.
Of course Circuit City could care less about this issue, I am only one person. Warning, avoid online purchases with Circuit City unless you do not are about their credit card hold policy.
