Charter Communications Complaint - Frustrated and Fed up with Poor Quality Customer and Repair Service
LOCUST GROVE, GEORGIA -- A poorly grounded cable line nearly caused our house to burn down during a lightning storm and Charter has yet to rectify the situation. Around 10 p.m. June 30, 2008, our home took a direct hit through the cable line. Anything that was connected to cable was fried. It also left a charred 8-in burn around the cable outlet in the living room. We reported this to Charter and are still waiting to have our house rewired and our equipment replaced. Needless to say, it's been an entire month and we are still waiting. They say this is a rare and unusual occurrence. I say that this happens more often than they are willing to admit and everyone who has had this experience should consider a class action lawsuit. Count me in. We hired an Electrical Engineer to independently assess the damage. It turned out that our cable was clearly not grounded correctly. You'd think that they would want to rectify this matter immediately. After several visits to our local office and daily phone calls to corporate, we're still waiting. Note account 8783600040627237.
