Big O Tire - Needles California Complaint - Broken Wheel Studs - Installed New Tires

Review by telcotech on 2008-08-06
NEEDLES, CALIFORNIA -- On August 5th I had new tires installed on my 2000 GMC Jimmy SUV at the Needles Big O ties shop. When I got home I noticed that the hub cap, a small cover on the right front wheel was not on straight. Removing the cover (hub cap) I found that one of the wheel studs had been broken off. I then checked the other wheel nuts to find that two of then had not been tightened down to the required tightness.

Checking the left front wheel I found the same thing with three of the wheel nuts. I will be taking the vehicle to another repair shop here in Needles that I can trust to have the broken stud replaced, and have all the nuts tightened to the required tightness. Because of what has taken place here, I personally will not trust this dealership (Big O Tires) to ever do anything else for me in the future. They broke off a front wheel stud and tried to cover up the damage, along with not correctly tightening the rest of the wheel nuts.

If they had only been honest and told me what had happened I would not be writting this warning to other customers.

Thank You

Even if you don't allow them to fix it, you should let them know. If they have a technician that's doing this kind of work, the manager needs to know.

Absolutely, Hugh!! Hard to blame the store if they are unaware that a worker is turning out shoddy work. This complaint may be the final straw that gets rid of him.

Just curious Telco, but did you hear any noises or was the vehicle handling any different?
