Panasonic Complaint - 7 month Old Digital Camera Fails And After Being Sent To 2 Panasonic Service Centers Still Not Repaired
LONDON -- After 7 months this Panasonic Digital camera DMCFX12 has failed, although it turns on and goes through the motions of focusing and shutter clicks but there is no image saved or viewable.
Camera was returned to shop from where it was purchased and we was informed that we should send back to Panasonic as it seemed to the shop staff that sensor had failed and should be returned for proper diagnostics, the camera was dispatched and returned to us after about 5 days, but on inspection it still did not work. a note from service center with engineers comments reads " checked and tested unit, uploaded latest firmware, reassembled, checked auto focus, checked all functions and tested".
Contacted service center again and resent to them to fix problem again.....after some days we received a call to say that the problem is that it has been "dropped" and the LCD connections has become dislodged and that this is a chargeable repair, the price quoted was actually MORE than the camera cost in the first place!!! this camera was looked after very carefully and was in pristine condition before it failed and had never been dropped by us. But after so many courier journeys who can say whats happened to it??
SO PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING PANASONIC PRODUCTS ESPECIALLY IN THE U.K AS THEIR SERVICE IS APPALLING. BUY FROM A RETAILER WHO WILL TAKE FAULTY GOODS BACK, i.e John Lewis etc etc and not fob you off because you never purchased their "EXTRA" Warranty...yes if you live in the U.K you will know the High St Stores who I'm talking about.
