Dubeau Hostel Flagstaff, AZ Informative - Miscommuincation Leading To Bad Customer Service

Review by randym on 2008-08-07
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA -- Prior to my arrival in Flagstaff AZ I phoned both local hostels of which are listed on this site. Both of which told me on the phone that an out of state driver's license would suffice to get a room at either hostel. So the following day I went to hostel on San Francisco and they told me that I was misinformed and sent me to another hostel right around the corner come to find out this hostel was owned by the same people no biggie really but why would they send me to this hostel knowing that the same rule was there and when I asked to speak to the manager [snip] told me the manager was in Ireland and he was not going to interrupt their vacation so now have I not only been lied to by this organization but I have also been told that my vacation is of no importance to anybody.

WOW this place really knows how to make someone feel welcome. After a long run around conversation with [snip] he still said the same thing. Sorry about your luck and that you were misinformed and no I will not give you the owners information at what level do I need to take this too does anybody have a helpful hint?

That doesn't make any sense. Why would you stay at a hostel in your own home town? Of course you're going to present and out of state driver's license. I would complain to the manager once he gets back from vacation.
