Staples Complaint - Horrible Service Which Resulted From Sub-par Foreign Products - No Quality Control
WASHINGTON -- Back on January 5, 2008 I ordered a desk and two bookshelves from Staples. When they arrived I found that one of the bookshelves was not square and therefore the doors would not close. I called them back only to have another shipped out. (back ordered and had to wait 8 weeks) I got my new bookshelf on March 6th. After assembling it I found that one of the doors was not square and thus would not shut. (can you believe that?)
Unfortunately they forced me to pack up the old bookshelf so that the guy dropping off the new bookshelf could take it back with him. Most likely, one of the doors would have worked. That was the only way they said I wouldn't be double charged for the bookshelf. Now for the good part.........I didn't get the new door until August 4th. The box for the new door arrived in perfect condition but when I opened it up...two of the corners of the door were crushed. Yep, they packed it that way! Oh and the new door doesn't have any kind of hinges attached to it... So here I sit on hold. They tell me that because the item is so old they can no longer return it.
So sorry...they offered to give refund me $50.00 on my credit card. ( BY THE WAY....THEY DIDN'T NEED MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO REFUND IT.....THEY HAD IT ON FILE) gotta love it. Isn't that illegal?
