Grocery Outlet Complaint - Over Or Wrong Prices

Review by horrible_sanity on 2008-08-12
WASHINGTON -- I recently visited The Mount Vernon Washington Grocery Outlet. My family and I have been going to this store for about 30 years. I went to pay for my food and the hamburger meat did not ring out right it was almost a dollar more than it was marked for when I brought it to the girls attention she had someone ran back to check the price check. When the girl came back she said the price was wrong normally I would have just been like okay but this is happened way to many times in this store and I was tired of them changing the tags on me. I asked if they would price match they said no so I told them I didn't want anything. I left on my way out I was told by the owner that he tries to make people happy and since he cannot make us happy not to come back.

Honestly I was just hoping for I am sorry we messed up instead I have gotten the worst customer service ever. and will tell all my family about it. Please do not shop there it may make a difference on how they treat people.

If they are charging more than the price on the item I would contact your State Attorney General's office and see if they have a consumer affairs department that looks into things like this.

You're asking an outlet store if they'll price match?

I agree with Contrary. It's one thing if the price marked doesn't show up on the register, but I've never heard of outlet stores taking coupons or doing price matches. It's OK to ask because you have nothing to lose, but to get upset about it is ridiculous. There's got to be more to this story...
