Pearle Vision Complaint - Poor Service By Pearle Vision Optical Company
Resolution Update on 07/25/2012:
Got new glasses from competitor
SAGINAW, MICHIGAN -- I went to Pearle Vision located at the Fashion Square Mall on July 7th to get a new pair of Glasses. It was my understanding that it would take about 10 to 14 days to get the finished product.
When I called to inquire about the status of the order I was told that the lab had made a mistake and it would be approximately 10 to 12 more days to get the product back to me... In the meantime I felt that the "doctor" who examined me had rushed though the exam and I insisted on a retest..
The was a difference in the 'prism' and they said they would make the adjustment, meanwhile the original set finally came in and I was instructed to try the original set over the time of a weekend. Predictably, the pair didn't correct my vision and I took them back Monday the 12th. of August..
When I explained the situation to the manager, [snip], she said that they decided to hold the remake, assuming that I would "get used to" the first set. They also said that when the second set came in it would be an opportunity to compare the prescriptions.
At that time I decided to get my money returned, a total of $261.73.. When she credited my account back she refused to return $54 of the cost because that was the prescription fee..
When I said that I would try one of her competitors she informed me that her company, Pearle Vision, and D.O.C /Lenscrafters was the same company using the same lab..
Most of the time she spent with me was essentially a series of excuses about why my glasses were so difficult to fit..
I thought that the price quote was reasonable, only proving once again that,"you get what you pay for"...
