Conn's Appliances Complaint - Conn's - Wants Your Money And That's It!
SAN ANTONIO TEXAS, TEXAS -- On 7/21/08 my wife took our sons lap top battery to the San Antonio Texas Service center (should be called NO-Service center. The clerk stated it would take 4-5 days to get a battery in because they were out of stock (even though their ads state all parts on hand always).
A week later my wife called (it took 5 tries to get thru totalling 35 minutes). A very, how should I say, non professional clerk just about chastised my wife saying "there were others ahead of her in the repair dept". I found this strange due to the fact we were just trying to exchange a bad battery under extended warranty.
Another 2-3 days went by, I started to call the service dept. I got thru once and was told "there were others ahead of me", do you see a pattern.
Another 2-3 days and I tried again to call, this time I repeatedly listened to recordings stating how fast and courteous this company was during and "AFTER THE SALE", here we go!! I finally got thru later in the day and was told the exact same thing by a clerk with the same "ATTITUDE". I then asked to speak to a manager, no one availabel at that time, asked to speak to an assitant mgr. none available at that time. Ckerk was getting more and more abusive. I hung up.
Started to call headquarters in Beaumont Texas, Got thru after 1-2 tries. Was the sent to wrong department time after time.
Finally got the right department. They said they would contact the service center here and have them call me. Later in the day the service center's manager did call me. They had been looking for a lap top computer and not a battery all along. Seems the clerk who originally wrote up the order did not state just battery. Was promised a replacement battery with in, ready for this, 4-5 days.
That was a week ago and still no battery and no calls (I am unemployed so I am near the phone all day 99% of the time. Still they could have left a message on the answering machine.
This started on 7/21/2008 it is now 8/13/2008. What gives, they just take money and "poof" no or little service 99% of the time.
I reported them to the BBB and who ever else I could. I do not reccomend them to anybody. Remember this was on a extended warranty battery for a lap top.
Well, this will be the last time we will deal with Conn's. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, I think that fits. Have a great day and please do not reccomend Conn's to anyone, but thats up to you.
The only email I could get was these below.
