DirecTV Inc Complaint - Direct TV Will Steal From You And Get Away With It!!!!
I signed up for Direct TV about a year ago and have had nothing but an awful experience with them.
To start, I signed up with a promotional offer of $39.99/ month but the billed me for $49.99/month.
When I called to complain the most they did for me was to give me 6 months at that price instead of the full year I had signed up for! I let that go...no big deal I guess.
When I moved about 6 months later my contract was extended.
My new place has basic cable included in the rent so out of curiosity I called Direct TV to see when my contract ended...well I spoke to more than 5 different people who told me different things.
Some said I had 1 more year, others said I had 6 months left and then 2 reps confirmed my belief that it was over in less than 1 month.
After asking and double checking with more than one rep about my contract length I cancelled my account. They assured me that I would only receive a fee for the last month that remained in my contract. 2 weeks later I am billed for $240!
When I disputed that they fixed it happily but only took off $140 leaving me with a $100 bill!
Turns out I was misinformed by their company and really had 5 months left on my contract so now I have to pay for it!
After talking with more reps and supervisors who told me I couldn't do anything else since they already reduced my fee by $140 I found their main address and wrote 2 letters to explain my side of the story and to ask that they reduce my fee due to their mistake.
Nope...they refuse because of the $140 they took off. Umm.. hello? My contract says I should pay $20 for every month left in my contract so that means 20 x 5 = 100 not 240!
So the 140 was never valid in their wildest dreams. Now back to my $100 remaining fee....it would be valid had I been given proper information from them...but they can't get their story straight...and due to their mistake I have to pay the full price?
All I ask is that they reduce it by even $20 to at least acknowledge their part in this but they just want more money from me I guess. DON'T USE Direct TV! Their packages suck anyway and are too expensive and they will screw you if you ever leave!
Unfriendly representatives don;t know their head from their bottom and YOU are the one who will pay for their negligence and unprofessional behavior!!!!!
