Westside Chevrolet - Katy, Texas Complaint - Service Department Falsifying Problem - Inaccurate Info

Review by fullmoon on 2008-08-13
KATY, TEXAS -- Lost my AC in my 2004 Avalanche. Took it to the service dept. to get an analysis of the problem. Received phone call from service dept., stating, "All the actuators" were burned up and needed replaced. I said ok, quote me a price to fix this problem, they told me "$1200.00" Before picking my vehicle up and/or giving them permission to do the work I did a bit of research. My research came back with, (3 certified mechanics) said that this was NOT possible. Therefore I spoke with Westside to get an accurate written description. They told me that, "the actuator is basically an electric motor and that once it burns out its OUT. Well, heres what was wrong....On my truck, if the freon level goes below a certain level the compressor is shut down to protect itself. Its a safety device so to say. When this happens you lose your AC.

Well, Westside not only lied, lied in writing, then when I brought the truck in the next day to show them the ac was again working, said to me: "well, that isn't uncommon, it can come back on! I may be blonde, I may be female, but I am not STUPID.

They refused to admit they were wrong, they refused to give me the truth. I refuse to go back.
