Napster.com Complaint - Napster's Three Day Free Preview
I love to download music. Napster's three-day free preview brought me to their web site.
I requested information from Napster's customer service center, regarding any conflicts the Napster 2.0 software might have with other media play and music download software, such as iTunes. A readme.txt on possible conflicts did not download with the software. I was sent an email telling me I should check out iTunes.com for that information.
After the first day, I could not logon to Napster. The responding database kept telling me I had an error 506 (whatever internal problem that was). I requested and received my logon and password from Napster via email. I still was not allowed access to Napster.
Napster did have songs in that first try I would have been happy to download, songs not available on iTunes or Emusic. However, they were not available for pay download. What is the point of having songs offered if not for pay download, so that they might be burned to CD and used? Instead, I would have to have gone back to Napster each and every time to play the song.
I sent Napster an email telling them these points. I hope in the future Napster can improve its customer service, lab tests before distribution and general attitude.
