Lowe's Complaint - Lowe's Doesn't Stand Behind Their Products
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS -- We found out when the compressor on our 7 year old refrigerator went out that it was not the factory part. When the repairman came to see what was wrong with the unit that it was no longer cooling. He asked when we had it worked on before? We had never had it worked on. We special ordered the unit from Lowe's 7 years ago and they delivered it once it arrived in their store and it has been there ever since. We ended up having to replace the compressor and when we contacted Lowe's w/original receipt, and told them that the compressor was not factory - they told us there was nothing they could do - as to the explanation of why there was not a factory compressor in it and there had been obvious Jury Rigging on the back with zip ties - Lowe's management stated that sometimes units are not working when they arrive at the store and their repairmen replace the non-working part.
As to us thinking we had a NEW product and paid for a NEW product - Lowe's basically told us too bad - nothing they can do about it anyway. Lowe's has lost a very good customer and I hope that others will listen up and go visit Home Depot instead!
