DMD Mobile Holdings Inc. / Complaint - Service or Scam - Mobile Text Messaging Service

Review by alduns on 2008-08-17
April 4th, 2008, I purchased new cellular phone service through US Cellular and I am very pleased with their service. Mid June I began receiving daily text messages in the form of horoscopes and simply deleted them thinking someone had made a mistake using my phone number. When I received my next phone bill I noticed an extra $9.95 charge on my bill and called to question it. The phone representative informed me that I must have signed up for an information service from, which I later discovered was owned by DMD Mobile Holdings Inc.

I assured the US Cellular rep. that I had not signed up for any services and if I had, I wouldn’t have signed up for an Aquarius horoscope because I was born in March! The rep. agreed to remove the new account and block any 900 number calls to safeguard any future attempts of such actions.

I called the number the rep. gave me for HollaMoblie and got a recording. I sent an e-mail to them requesting my $9.95 back, but receive no response. I tried calling again, for several weeks, at different times of the day, as the messages continued to come in. Thankfully US Cellular has free incoming messages!

Finally I got through to someone in July and asked them to remove my phone number from their system. They agreed and explained it was probably a system malfunction.

To this day, I am still receiving unwanted text messages but they have changed from Aquarius horoscopes to motivational messages. I call but still get a recording. So I’m beginning to think I’m in the wrong business.

I need to setup a service that randomly sends out text messages and charges the number called $9.95 on their next bill. Then hire someone with a sweet voice to apologize and give people the run around while I invest the millions of dollars I’m scamming from people in preparation for the class action suits I will have to fight in the distant future! What a great idea…

All I want now is for the messages to STOP!
Con-sumer beware!!!
