Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Enterpo' - ADA Compliance
ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA -- Because of a disability, I require a steering wheel knob to drive. My local Enterprise Rent-A-Car has failed to meet this Americans with Disabilities Act reasonable accommodation after 5+ days claiming that they have to rely on a service center 45 minutes away for installation and that the service center keeps failing to install the proper equipment. I believe that the managers at my local Enterprise branch bear a lot of the blame because: they keep accepting vehicles from this service center that they know contain the wrong special equipment- i.e., hand controls rather than a steering wheel knob. they wait half a business day between the time the first incorrect installation was discovered to drive the vehicle back down to the service center to try and correct the problem. (The first incorrect installation was discovered around 5 pm August 14th, I'm told the vehicle wasn't driven down to the service center until after 1 pm August 15th).
Given that Enterprise boasts having branches all over the Washington, D.C. area, I find it hard to believe that this particular branch is solely reliant on one service center 45 minutes away to install a knob any person with a screw driver can install in ten minutes.
